GUITAR PLAYER Magazine Celebrates 40 Years Of Publication; 'Oral History' Part 1 Available
November 5, 2007To commemorate Guitar Player's 40 years of publication this year, Rockcritics.com begins an oral history today of the magazine with remembrances from eight past and present writers and editors from the publication. The feature kicks off today with an introduction and part one with former editor-in-chief Tom Wheeler: Introduction, Feature.
After freelancing for Rolling Stone during the seventies, Tom Wheeler joined the staff of Guitar Player and eventually became its editor-in-chief. He served in that capacity for ten years, was also the founding editorial director of Bass Player, and continued to provide a monthly column for Guitar Player long after leaving the office.
